Engine Robot Integration.
No size limit on your existing robot.
An integration kit that converts any common industrial robot arm — ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, Yaskawa, Siemens — into a metal AM system. The working envelope is bounded only by the reach of your robot, not by a chamber. Ideal for cladding, hard-facing and large geometries that an M600 or LPBF machine cannot handle. Plus plug-and-play robot mounting on a gantry for parts of multiple meters.

Technical specifications
Four properties that drive the choice
No size limit
Parts that physically do not fit in M600 or LPBF machines become makeable here. On a gantry, parts of multiple meters are realistic.
Cladding on large geometry
Repair and cladding of components too large to bring to an AM machine — bearings of meters, shipbuilding parts, civil steel structures.
Existing robot investment
Already have an industrial robot in your production? The Engine Robot kit leverages that investment — no second machine, no extra footprint.
Plug-and-play software
Meltio Space (1 year included) is a multi-axis toolpath generator specialized for robot integrations — simulation, collision detection, and post-processor for your specific robot brand.
See how the Engine Robot works
The Meltio Engine integrated on an industrial robot arm — multi-axis deposition paths, near-net-shape build-up, and the flexibility of a robotic cell platform in production.
Where this configuration pays off
Three typical scenarios where the Engine Robot is the right choice for your production.
Cladding on large bearings and shafts
White metal (babbitt) cladding or CRA cladding on industrial bearings, propeller shaft segments, or large hydraulic cylinders. A use case where Eurobearings (IT) reduced their lead time by 50% via a KUKA + Engine Robot setup.
Large structural parts
Wing spars, structural aerospace components, civil steel structures — geometries that simply do not fit in a chamber. On a gantry-mounted robot, parts of meters become possible.
Hard-facing in production
Hard-facing cladding on valve seats, cutting tools, drilling tools — applications where high deposition rate and multi-material flexibility are decisive.
Complex geometry with 6+ axes.
With a 6-axis robot, optionally combined with a positioner, the print head moves around the part. This lets you print rotating and overhanging shapes such as nozzles, turbines and exhaust parts without supports.

What 3DPS does for Engine Robot customers
Robot assessment
Before purchase we evaluate your existing robot installation — brand, payload, reach, controller version. No integration if the foundation is not right.
Cell design & integration
We design a safe cell setup with you: shroud system, gas supply, feeder positioning, plus mechanical and software integration.
Multi-axis training
5-day training including Meltio Space toolpath generation, robot programming, and multi-axis printing strategies for your specific parts.
Maintenance + Space license
Preventive maintenance of the printhead and feeders, plus annual renewal of the Meltio Space license. Spares within 48 hours.
