Engine CNC Integration.
Hybride productie on your existing VMC.
A retrofit kit that converts your existing Vertical Machining Center into a hybrid machine. Deposit near-net-shape geometry and machine in the same setup — no repositioning, no second clamping, no tolerances lost to re-fixturing. Ideal for mold repair, feature addition on forged shafts, and hybrid production where near-net-shape transitions directly into CNC finishing.

Technical specifications
Four properties that drive the choice
Not a separate machine
You don't buy a second machine — you upgrade your existing VMC. No additional footprint in the hall, no extra operator, no second power supply.
Print + machine, one setup
For parts that need both near-net-shape and CNC finish, this is fundamentally faster and more precise than two separate setups on separate machines.
Mold repair without disassembly
Cavity cladding on injection molds or feature addition on large forged parts — directly in your existing VMC, no transport to a separate AM machine.
Low entry investment
The cheapest route to industrial metal AM for a company that already has a VMC. ROI calculated against your existing machine hours.
Printed and machined in the same machine
An impeller is built near-net-shape from welding wire, then finish-machined to final dimensions in the same setup. No re-clamping, no second machine: printing and machining in one workflow.

Where this configuration pays off
Three typical scenarios where the Engine CNC is the right choice for your production.
Mold repair and cavity cladding
Injection molds, dies for hot forming, and die-casting tools with thermal wear. Cladding with H13 or comparable tool steel directly in your VMC, followed by precision finishing to original tolerance.
Hybrid production of forged parts
Add complex geometry or features to a forged shaft or base billet — geometry that conventional methods cannot make. Wire-laser deposits, CNC machines, in one setup.
Feature addition on existing parts
Mounting features, sensor brackets, weld features on existing frames or structural components. No machine disassembly required — only the part to be processed has to come to the VMC.
Print and machine in one machine.
The Engine CNC turns your CNC machine into a hybrid system. Print near-net-shape from welding wire first, then machine to final dimensions in the same setup.

Frequently asked questions about Meltio Engine CNC
Who can integrate a Meltio print head on my existing CNC machine in the Netherlands?
As the official Meltio partner in the Benelux, 3DPS Industrial integrates the Meltio Engine CNC on existing vertical machining centres in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. We assess your machine's suitability in advance, handle installation and commissioning, and train your operators.
Which CNC machines does the Meltio Engine fit?
Virtually any standard vertical machining centre (VMC). Known integrations include the Haas VF, UMC and TM series. The 32.5–35 kg print head is mounted next to the spindle, so normal CNC functions remain unchanged.
What is the advantage of printing and machining in one machine?
You build the part near-net-shape from welding wire and machine it to final dimensions in the same setup. No repositioning, no tolerance loss from re-clamping and no second machine. Ideal for mould repair and adding features to existing parts.
Materials portfolio & deposition rates
Twelve pre-validated Meltio materials with ready-to-use parameters, plus an open platform for third-party commodity welding wire. View the complete deposition table on Blue 1.4 kW per alloy.
What 3DPS does for Engine CNC customers
VMC assessment
Before purchase we visit your factory and evaluate whether your existing VMC is technically suitable for the retrofit. No sales pitch if it does not fit.
Integration & commissioning
Mechanical mounting of the printhead on your VMC, software integration, M-code mapping to your CNC controller, and first hybrid print validation.
Hybrid training
5-day training where your operators learn to switch between deposition and CNC within one setup. Software Partners stack included.
Maintenance + wire deliveries
Preventive maintenance of both printhead and feeders, plus standard welding-wire deliveries from BENELUX inventory. Spares within 48 hours.
Ready to put Engine CNC into your production?
Send a drawing or description of a typical part from your production, plus the specifications of your existing VMC. Within 5 working days you receive substantiated advice and, if the retrofit fits technically, a quote with BENELUX terms.
